Does anyone have advice for an 18 year old with aspergers syndrome? - aspergers syndrome more condition_symptomsadult

My son is 18 and has Asperger's syndrome. He has no friends and has suffered years of ridicule. He is very intelligent, but not all classes. High School was to torment him. He wants to go to college, but fear, have not that either. Can you give some adivce on the autism spectrum? Could some advice, which I am also frustrated, depressed mother.

I think he should change his IEP and try to leave home for education. The online study could be the thing to get to you and to heal emotionally tease. These programs are often tailored to the needs of their states. Agencies to ask you a question about the state in "education at home and get a list of answers. You should see some success before about college. Then there are groups that social support from the ability of the Autism Society of your area. It is not ready for school without her.

Since he is 18, please contact the Vocational Rehabilitation Program to see what we do, it can begin. Sometimes the waiting lists are long.

In addition, the Department of Mental Health in your area can manage programs that could help to socialize, too. I know that this is not a mental illness, but only the administrative group.

Do not assume any athletic activity? Even bowling leagues? Take it with adult men. How about an interest group computers or how toit is?

What I can say on a personal level, it was very difficult for me, still in high school. I 16 W / autism and ADD, and had to go to a school with special needs change in my first year away from everything. The best advice I can give is not easy. I've learned that if the person who teases given an answer, they'll do a little more, just to the same answer. I have also learned that if you ignore everything to stop it. I have a sister who wants to tease me all the time. Just ignore and continue w / your life. What the school, I told the community college 2 years and then transfer to a university. I want to do. It really is like school, only smaller classes, but the same amount of work. I say good luck to you, and I pray that God is always in his heart.
